Auger Cast Piles

Also called Continuous Flight Auger Piles (CFA Piles)/Auger Cast in Place piles/Auger piles. The Auger piles that we install normally measure 12" to 36" in diameter and lengths up to 100 feet. Compression load for the piles typically ranges from the capacity of 30 tons to 150 tons.

Helical Anchors

These are also referred to as helical piers or screw piles. We utilize these anchors to act as tension anchors and bearing piles to deal with compression and tension. Wherever applicable, helical anchors are also utilized as tie backs for the shoring design we use. One of the brands used by us is a well-known brand name for helical anchors called Chance.

Drilled Micro Piles

Also called pin piles, mini piles, root piles or needle piles, we utilize diferent types of micro piles on the basis of different soil conditions. Micro piles used by us generally measure in diameter from 12 inches to 3 inches while their lengths can range to 100 feet and above while easily handling capacities of up to 300 or more tons.

Timber Piles (Wood Piles)

Having been used for the installation of foundations for centuries, this material remains a very practical deep foundation to this day, because of its tried and true abilities. We use timber piles when dealing with a compression load of up to 40 tons and lengths to 60 feet.

Steel Pipe Piles

Pipe piles are a versatile pile type. The tip of the pile can be open ended or closed with a steel plate. If closed, the pile can be filled with concrete resulting in improvements in resistance to corrosion and the load carrying capacity. Oilfield reject pipe is a signifcant source of pipe piling. Pipe that does not meet the strict chemical requirements of the oilfield works very well for the structural requirements of pipe piling. Because of their similar attributes pipe piles are often a less expensive alternative to H piles. At Geotechnical, pipe piles are installed extensively.

Steel H Piles

At Geotech, Steel H piles are used in many of our major projects. Although the most commonly used sizes consist of HP10X42, HP14X73 and the HP12X52, when required, we also use other sizes as well. Because it is possible to splice the H pile, the depth to which it can be driven is almost unlimited. When dealing with varying lengths of H pile, material from one pile can be cut off and used to extend another pile, minimizing waste.

Precast Concrete Piles

Geotech is the premier installer of precast prestressed concrete piles in central Florida. We install precast prestressed piles extensively for highway and airport bridges as well as commercial and industrial foundations.

Steel Sheet Piles

Sheet piles are interlocking sheets that allow the filling or excavation of any space without requiring a wall or a slope to be erected. Sheet piles can also be used as a sea wall adjacent to a water body. Although predominately made out of steel, for projects that are less demanding, vinyl and plastic sheet piles can also be used.

Precast Concrete Sheet Piles

Installed through a process known as jetting in sandy conditions, precast concrete sheet piles are used to provide heavy duty protection mainly as sea walls or other places that require protection from scour on a permanent basis. They are also used to retain soil in other conditions as well.

Lagging and H Piles

H piles as part of a shoring system can be installed, either by inserting them in drilled holes or by driving. Lagging is usually inserted between the flanges of the H piles. Placed horizontally, it is made of planks that are 6 to 3 inches in thickness and made out of hardwood although it is practical at times to use steel plates or panels of precast concrete.

Tie Backs

Tiebacks are normalled installed horizontally or at an angle from horizontal in order to enable the load to transfer laterally to a shoring wall. Tie backs can be helical or they can be grouted in place. Both methods enable the tie backs to achieve capacity either by the friction between the soil and the grout anchor or by interacting with the subsurface and the helixes on the helical piers.

Stone Columns, Aggregate Piers, Vibro Compaction

With the help of these products, it is possible to reduce liquefaction and settlement potential. These can sometimes enable us to substitute deep foundation with spread footings. Other similar products and methods used for this purpose are: Geo Piers™, vibro replacement, vibro floatation and vibro displacement.
